The Goo Glitz are special to me.

When I created Goo Glitz in October of 2021 I did not plan on making something complicated. My friends and I were having a ton of fun flipping and learning about NFTs and I wanted to get my foot in the door as a creator in the space. I felt inspired by seeing teams both big and small pull off cool projects.

In October most NFT projects were trying desperately to attract buyers by advertising new utilities or things like royalty sharing promises. Some projects were straight up lying on their roadmaps. People were getting rugged and communities were collapsing or turning toxic due to broken promises. I thought it would be a breath of fresh air for the Solana community to come out with a project that was not shy about promising nothing. Goo Glitz’ motto from the start was “no utility, no roadmap, just good vibes.” We also went with a very low mint cost for ultimate accessibility. I made Goo Glitz to make something cool, not to make money. Our organic community was, I think, a result of this simple but fresh approach.

Since our mint on November 3rd we have been sticking to our motto and focusing mostly on chill vibes in our Discord and in Twitter spaces. Things have been going great but at some point in December it dawned to me that our small project might need a little more to work with as the NFT space becomes more mainstream. A project that relies so much on community also relies on its lead community members, which made me stress that if Vezo and I weren’t on Twitter for a couple days that it would affect the project negatively... that doesn’t seem very decentralized or self-sufficient.

We think it’s necessary to shift the vision for Goo Glitz to “self-sufficiency, brand strengthening, and community solidification.”

Here’s how we plan to do it...
